Empathizing to understand the needs of VA Car Detailing
To kick off this project and my initial contact with the client, I scheduled a virtual Zoom meeting. We got to know each other a bit, and I asked a series of open-ended questions to uncover their needs, objectives for the project, and current frustrations.
From there, I made a list of objectives for my work with them :
Website will represent the services and the
New brand identity (logo, color palette, business cards etc…)
Put emphasis on their social medias
Add automation to the client service requests
Deadline : Before summer 2024
SEO optimized wording
Attract and convert new clients
Showcasing their results
Competitive research (Benchmarking)
After discussing the project with the client, I conducted thorough competitive research and benchmarking, examining local auto detailing sites to identify essential features and design elements that would ensure their website’s success and to find a way to differentiate it from the rest of the local competition.
They have a efficient way to book a service online, lots of information about their services. Website has little to no personality and isn't aesthetically pleasing.
There is a clear brand identity and feels personnalized. Accent on their credibility with the use of Reviews and Testimonials. Special packages and gallery of pictures with their result pictures.
Modern and clean aesthetic brings credibility and trust to the company. Have information about their services. Using a form to get a quote for a service.
Reflecting on my competitive research, I identified a list of insights that will be integrated into the website to ensure its quality.
Client reviews to increase credibility
Showcasing lots of result pictures
Unique and personalized brand identity
Information about the services to help the client through their choice
Useful package deals for clients
Integration of their social medias
Online form to request a service
Funnel strategy to convert clients, requesting a service
Brand Identity
Once I understood the objectives of this project and the competitive market, I had a clearer vision of how to elevate VA Car Detailing's brand identity. I selected colors that would give them a more luxurious and premium feel, using gold and black as the primary palette, with red as an accent color to create contrast and make key elements stand out.
Concept 1
Concept 2
I decided to create two logo concepts to give my client the opportunity to choose the style he prefers. The first version has a simpler, fine-line look, while the second is bolder and more playful. Both designs maintain a clean and professional appearance. Later, the client chose the second concept.
Choice of the client
I then designed a business card that the client absolutely loved. It features a QR code that directs users straight to their website, along with all their social media information, while maintaining a cohesive look that aligns with their new brand identity.
Userflow
With my client's brand identity fully revamped and research completed on key website elements, I began the website design process by creating a user flow outlining each page to be included.
Prototyping
Feeling very inspired by this website, I jumped straight into creating a high-fidelity prototype on WordPress. The website was designed in continuous collaboration with the client through regular check-ins to ensure they approved the progress. If not, I iterated and improved the design accordingly.
Last few iterations and approval for launch
After designing all the pages, I met with the client for a final review. He was thrilled with the result, and the next day, I launched the website.
